Sheikh Russel Day 2022, observed at MIU

The 58th birth anniversary of Sheikh Russell, the youngest son of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Sheikh Russell Day 2022, has been observed at Manarat International University. Today, October 18, Tuesday, all these programs were held at the permanent campus of the university in Ashulia. The programs included the wreath-laying of Sheikh Russel's portrait, tree planting, and a discussion meeting. In the morning, treasurer (in-charge) Hafizul Islam Mia and the Registrar Md. Manirul Islam laid wreaths on Sheikh Russell's portrait. Later, a discussion and a tree planting program were held. The Treasurer, Hafizul Islam Mia, was present as the chief guest, while the Registrar, Md. Manirul Islam presided over the occasion. Later, an article titled "Sheikh Russell: A Unique Role Model for Children" was presented by Dr. Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad, Coordinator and Associate Professor of the Center for General Education. Rofikuzzaman, Head of the Journalism and Media Studies Department, also participated in the discussion. A. H. M. Abu Syeed, the Controller of Examinations; Ahmad Mahbub-ul-Alam, Head and Associate Professor of the English Department; Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, Head and Associate Professor of the CSE Department; K. M. Aktaruzzaman, Head and Associate Professor of the EEE Department; Associate Professor Dr. Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad, Coordinator and Associate Professor of the Center for General Education; Additional Director of Admission, Public Relations and Students Affairs Abdul Matin, Alamgir Hossain, Deputy Registrar, and others were present on the occasion. As part of the tree plantation program, saplings of amlaki, amra, olive and mango trees were planted on the campus premises in the morning. At that time, the Treasurer and Registrar Heads of various departments, including teachers, students, and officials, were present.
