Medzone from Pharmacy department becomes champion at the MIU Six-A-Side football tournament

Medzone, a team from the Department of Pharmacy, has become the champion in the 2023 Six-A-Side Football Tournament held at Manarat International University. The final match of the tournament was held on the afternoon of September 16, 2023 (Saturday) at the playground of Gulshan Campus. The team ENB Renesa from the English Department, has been the runner-up in the tournament. The tournament has been organized by the MIU Sports Club. Eight teams from different departments of the university participated in this two-week long tournament. On the occasion of the tournament, immense level of enthusiasm has been observed among the students across the campus. Dr. Nargis Sultana Chowdhury, Dean, School of Engineering, Science, and Technology, and Head of the Department of Pharmacy, attended the opening ceremony of the final match as the chief guest and Dr. Md. Moazzom Hossain, Registrar, MIU as a special guest. Dr. Sk. Habibur Rahman, Assistant Professor of Business Administration Department and Moderator, MIU Sports Club, chaired the program. The first half and second half of the final match were drawn. The match went into extra time and that too was drawn. Then the result of the match was finalized by tiebreaker. Medzon, the pharmacy team, defeated the English team, ENB Renesa, in tiebreaker and secured the champion's trophy. At the end of the match, prizes were distributed among the players of the champion and runner-up teams on the occasion of the prize-giving ceremony. Md. Mahabub Alom, Dean, Business and Economics, and Head of the Business Administration Department; Dr. Md. Moazzom Hossain, Registrar, MIU; Ahmad Mahbub-ul-Alam, Head of the English Department; Dr. Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad, Coordinator of CGED; Dr. Sk. Habibur Rahman, Moderator, MIIU Sports Club; Mohammad Faizul Haque, Lecturer of the Islamic Studies Department and Assistant Moderator, MIU Sports Club; Md. Nahid Hasan, Lecturer of the Pharmacy Department; Abdul Matin, Additional Director of Student Affairs Division; Zamal Hossain, Deputy Director of the Admission and Public Relations Division; Shamim Ahmed, President of Sports Club (Gulshan Campus); Abdul Hai, Shamim Ahmed, President of Sports Club (Ashulia Campus),  and others were present on the prize giving ceremony.
