Manarat International University celebrates MBA Day

The Department of Business Administration of celebrated MBA Day on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the university. Daylong colorful events, including seminars, farewells, get-togethers and lunches, were organised on the Gulshan campus on Friday, said a press release. It was attended by current and former students of the MBA program, members of the Board of Trustees of the university, former vice-chancellors, eminent academics, researchers and senior officials of various corporate organisations. The chief guest in the morning session was Mohammad Abdullah, acting chairman, Manarat International University Trust. Vice-chancellor of the university Professor Dr. Md Nazrul Islam was chief guest in the afternoon session. The two sessions were chaired by the Dean of the School of Business and Economics, Professor M. Harun-ur-Rashid. Manarat International University Trust members Enamul Hoque Chowdhury, FCA, Professor Dr. Md. Mozammel Hoq and Barrister Foyez Uddin Ahmed were special guests in the morning session. Md. Mosharrof Hossain, Founder President, Federation of Bangladesh Human Resource Organization ( FBHRO) and Space Business Consulting Service CEO K. M. Ali delivered their speeches in a seminar titled, ‘Business Education: Linkage of Academia and Corporate’. The keynote speaker of the afternoon session was Manarat International University Trust member Professor Dr. Choudhury Mahmood Hasan. Professor Dr. M. Umar Ali, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Abdur Rob, Manarat treasurer Hafizul Islam Mia, Registrar Monirul Islam, Islami Bank Bangladesh DMD and Human Resources  Wing & CHRO head Md. Mostafizur Rahman Siddiquee and others were special guests in the afternoon. The guest of honour at the session was Bird Group’s head of operations Md. Nure A. Khan. On the occasion, a reception was given to seven students who completed MBA degree from Manarat at different times. Among them, Bangladesh University of Professionals, information and public relations division’s Major Md Yusuf Sharif, Majumdar Group executive director Lieutenant Colonel Qutubur Rahman Sarkar, Beximco Fashion Limited senior manager Md Abdus Samad delivered speeches. Students admitted to the MBA program on the occasion of the program were given a discount of up to Tk 15,000 on tuition fees. The media partners of the programme were Daily Nayadiganta, English daily New Age, Radio 98.4 FM. The co-sponsors were Hurray Wafer and the Brand Korea Bangladesh.
