Associate Professor Ahmad Mahbub-ul-Alam, son of Professor Sultan Alam and Late Rowshan Ara, is currently pursuing his PhD with the dissertation-title “Women in the Novels of Jane Austen and Sharat Chandra: A Comparative Study” in the Centre for Higher Studies and Research (CHSR), Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), Mirpur Cantonment, Dhaka. Born in 1976, he completed both his SSC and HSC in Science Group from Rangpur Cadet College (CCR) under Rajshahi Education Board in 1992 and 1994 respectively, with 1st division in both the examinations and Star-Marks in SSC. He did his BA (Hons) and MA in English Language and Literature with the 1st batch of the Department of English Language and Literature of Darul Ihsan University (DIU) with CGPA 3.59 and 3.28, securing 3rd position in both the examinations held in June 2001 and June 2002 respectively. Mr. Ahmad Mahbub-ul-Alam is presently serving as a full-time faculty in the Department of English, Manarat International University (MIU), Dhaka, with an active teaching career of 17 years. He also worked with Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), Mirpur Cantonment, Dhaka and Government Eden Mohila College, Dhaka, as Guest Faculty, and also with International Labour Organization (ILO), Italy, as External Consultant for Translation and Quality Assurance. In 2018, he was a Seminar Speaker on Communication Skills for the Flying Officers of 74 BAF Course at Bangladesh Air Force Academy (BAFA), Jessore and also for the Front-Desk Personnel at Marks Medical College Hospital, Mirpur, Dhaka. He is a regular Thesis Supervisor of the MA in English students and has supervised more than 60 Thesis Papers since 2010. As a researcher, he has a number of 17 research articles published in different national and international research journals along with some public university research journals, of which few have already been cited by different national and international scholars in their research articles. As an Ex-Cadet, Mr. Ahmad Mahbub-ul-Alam is a Life Member of Rangpur Old Cadets Association (ROCA) and a General Member of both Cadet College Club Limited (CCCL) and Cadet College Club Literary Society (CCCLS). He is also a regular contributor in the CadetCollegeBlog.com.
