Decolonizing ELT in Bangladesh: Rethinking Pedagogy and the Use of AI The Department of English at MIU organized a seminar on 24 August 2024 at the Cordova Seminar Hall, Gulshan Campus, exploring the future of English teaching in Bangladesh. Professor Ahmed Bashir (University of Dhaka) spoke as Chief Discussant, emphasizing the need to rethink colonial legacies in ELT. Dr. Abu Ayub Md. Ibrahim, Dean of Arts & Humanities, attended as Special Guest, and Ms. Tasmia Muslehuddin, Head of the English Department, chaired the program. Faculty, including Assistant Professor Afsar Kayum, shared innovative strategies to make teaching more inclusive and contextually relevant.
